# Creating Events

## Overview

Create **Instant Events** when you need to record immediately, or **Scheduled Events** when you plan ahead with full details.

## Event Managers

Every event has an Event Manager who controls recording. When the Event Manager starts or stops, connected devices follow (per role rules in the recording guide).

- Instant events: creator becomes Event Manager.
- Scheduled events: Event Manager is chosen during creation.

## Instant Events

1. Open Camera or Events and choose Instant Event.
2. Event is created with current time and device location.
3. You are connected and ready to record.

Only Admins and Editors can create instant events, and the team cannot have another event in setup or in progress.

## Scheduled Events

1. Open Events and tap "+".
2. Enter name, type, date, time, venue, and Event Manager.
3. Tap Create Event.

Only Admins and Editors can create scheduled events.
