Creating Events

Overview

There are two ways to create an event on Meddly: Instant Events and Scheduled Events.

Instant events are created on the fly when you're ready to record right away, while scheduled events are planned ahead of time with full details.

If you are deciding which event type to use, start here. This guide helps you choose the right setup and assign the correct Event Manager.

Event Managers

Every event has an Event Manager. The Event Manager is in charge of the event. They're responsible for setting it up and controlling the recording. When the Event Manager starts recording, all connected mobile devices will start recording too. When they stop, all devices stop automatically.

For instant events, the person who creates the event becomes the Event Manager. For scheduled events, the Event Manager is selected during event creation.

Instant Events

Instant events let you start recording right away without filling out a form. They're created directly from the Camera screen or the Events screen.

  1. Navigate to the Camera screen or the Events screen and select the "Instant Event" option.

  2. The event is created immediately using the current time and your device's location. No additional details are required.

  3. You'll be automatically connected to the event and ready to start recording.

Note: Only Admins and Editors can create instant events, and your team must not have another event currently in setup or in progress.

Scheduled Events

Scheduled events are planned ahead of time with all the details your team needs.

  1. Navigate to the Events screen by selecting the Events tab on the bottom of the screen.

  2. Select the "+" button in the top right corner of the screen.

  3. Fill out the event details including the event name, type, date, time, venue, and Event Manager.

  4. Select the "Create Event" button at the bottom of the screen.

Note: Only Admins and Editors can create scheduled events.

That's it! Now you're ready to Record the Event.
